Swing In Motion is a hands-on science curriculum dance class designed to explore Force and Motion by learning fundamentals of west Coast Swing dancing. This unique fitness class is a great opportunity to explore Chicago's culture of blues music and other music genres used in swing. The first two types of swing that will be introduced to children is east coast swing and west coast swing.
Heather Fronczak is a native to the Chicagoland Area and holds a bachelors degree in psychology with a minor in sociology from Northern Illinois University. While in college, Heather worked in child developmental labs and school psychology labs. Heather has had the opportunity to attend and present research findings at a few of the biggest child developmental conferences in the world.
Heather has worked as an early educator for nearly nine years. She has teaching experience in all ages from infancy to high school students. She loves helping students reach that “Light Bulb” moment when conquering new concepts.
Another passion in Heather's life is dance. Heather started dancing at the age of three and hasn't stopped yet! Heather's training started with tap, (or in her words as a child “the shoes that make noise!”), Jazz, and Hip Hop. At the age of eight she was exposed to line dancing where she trained and competed in the youth division. By the age of nine, she won 2nd place in the USWDC World's competition. At the age of twelve, she was introduced to partnered dancing such as country two step, waltz, night club two step, and east coast swing and west coast swing. Although she loves and appreciates all forms of dance, west coast swing stuck to her like glue and she has been hooked ever since. Heather is currently a West Coast Swing dancer who travels across the States to compete, perform, and teach with her dance partner Sammy. Together they are known as The Dorky Duo.
Heather has designed a way of combining both of her passions together to spread her passion of dance to others. She is so excited to share her love of dance as as means of intensive physics curriculum. What better learning than to receive hands-on experience to understand a concept. It'll be so fun the students will forget that they are learning!
